China Visit

Here we are again to China, to a place i know so well and at the same time i do not know at all.

In a year i travel many times to Guangzhou. If someone came up to me and ask, “Could you tell me what are the places of interest?”. I couldn’t even name one. It sounds funny but this is true.

This trip consider a short trip for me, from 11th Nov – 15th Nov, covering GZ, Wenzhou & Wenling.

Some of the interesting thing during my visit to share.

In our country we usual order our dishes from our MENU BOOK. But in Wenling & Wenzhou or maybe other parts of China, their menu is in a room. With all the dishes display (either by pictures, by display on plate or by raw / life ingredients).

 

Yes, there are snakes, sui yu & mud skipper. Crabs and frogs are rather normal. Look at the fish and prawns display, nicely layout on ice to keep its freshness. This is to ensure to the customers all their ingredients are fresh and alive.

I dont even know all the ingredients as i cant read Chinese.

Do not get me wrong, i do not eat all these stuff. Merely for photo taking purposes.

 

One of the day we had Italian food. Surprisingly the place was awesome. The place is cosy, warm and woody feel.

The food are delicious. The pumpkin soup is creamy and thick. Pizza skin were so thin and crispy. The breast duck were juice and delicious. Not forgetting my favor Jamon Iberico.

Lost of a dear friend. My dear friend.

Early morning received a call from Mary.

Im shock to hear the news. I was thinking of him the other day and plan to visit him again after my China trip.

Guess its too late.

Visited him twice, 2nd time with Porky in UH on 30th Aug. He was so slim on his face thou his tummy still bloated but smaller than the first time i visited him.

 

 

Life is so short. Treasure and cherish while it last.

Have a noodle shop

As i was waiting for Mr Musical, thinking what to eat.

So many things in my mind that i wanted to eat. Japanese beef rice? Or noodle?

Japanese beef rice? Or noodle?

Mr Musical hop into the car. Maybe he could decide for me.

He said why not somewhr near? Japanese beef rice?

Deep down i knew what i wanted. NOODLE!

I drove to Jaya One order a bowl of pork ball noodle with added noodle and squid ball. Waaaaaa….. saliva also dripping down.

Trip back to my hometown.

Its time to take a break.

To a place im most familiar with.

The place i grew up in.

Lazying around whole day, watch tv & eating food that i crave so long.

Everyone knows, my fav curry hor fun with lots of bean sprout, sweet dark brownish char siew topped with chili oil paste. Heaven~

Other cravings, ccf and nasi kandar. I missed the lmf. More reason for me to go back next trip.

Overnight Oats

I have been seeing pictures of overnight oats flooding in my fb feed and i thought well maybe its a good idea for Mr Musical.

5 weeks ago i started this mini project determine to lower down Mr Musical’s weight and getting a healthier breakfast diet for him.

I did some research on types of oats, yogurt & milk that could go well together as Mr Musical dislike Almond milk as per recommended by most “gurus”. Imported fruits are pretty expensive thus i need to reinvent the recipe base on the local fruits availabilities.

So here i call it the asia recipe.

Base

Organic roll out oats – recommend to get the softer ones.

Plain yogurt – i tried to use the plain yogurt/greek yogurt without other flavours to reduce sugar contain. Greek yogurt gives a thicker texture and soreness compare to normal yogurt.

Milk – any full cream milk will do. I had tried with strawberry milk taste nice but a bit sweet. Now im just using plain white milk.

Kiwi with green apples

Guava with green apples

Banana with kiwi

Toppings

Raisin & apricot.
